October Sky Project
Project Overview
For this project, we began making rockets out of paper that would use air pressure as fuel. For this rocket, our goal was to beat out the opposition by getting ours farthest. The rocket we built (Aspen & I,) was by far the best. After it was over we examined the differences in the rockets, and what worked for each one. We then proceeded unto water rockets (plastic bottles with water in them.) They would be launched with water pressurized by air. This launch was to attempt launching stable bottle rockets that could fly at least 50 ft into the air and land with an egg intact (its inside the whole time.) And for our last launch we got to choose the type of rocket we wanted to build, either paper or bottle. Our goal in this final launch was to get it as high as possible while having the egg survive.
