San Diego: Through The Lens

My Final Picture;
My Artist's Statement;
I felt that it was necessary to have the majority of my face visible, along with some of the sky above me. The frame made it so you didn’t just have to look at my ugly mug, but could also look at the sky above me. No props were included in my self-portrait because I felt that they weren’t necessary, I thought that a self portrait should be taken by yourself without too many distractions. In my picture I am standing still because I feel that pictures lack complexity, so why would I try to change that?
The picture is captured due to a chemical on film (it gets darker when exposed to light but it only visible after it is allowed to sit in a few alternating liquids.) The light that you are capturing bounces off of said object and goes into the pinhole, since the pinhole is so small the amount of light that actually makes it in is very select. A picture of this process can be found below; (See picture #1)
The distance to place the camera away from you can be found by dividing the BLUE line by the RED line, and multiplying the result by the GREEN line (it will give you the ORANGE line.) How far to place it from the ground (how far up,) can be found by subtracting the half of the BLUE line from your total height (if it’s centered in the middle of your face, this will give you the PURPLE line.) (See picture #1)
The triangles are similar because Yellow and Black are the same for both triangles. this causes angle replication, and allows them to be similar by the AA postulate.
In my case, the values were;
BLUE; 400 mm
RED; 24 mm
GREEN; 10 mm
ORANGE; 166.666666667 mm
MY HEIGHT; 1651 mm
PURPLE; 1451 mm
Therefore, my math looked like this; (See picture #2)
