Through four years at HTHI, I've become an incredible asset in a team. I've become an adept in everything involving teamwork from ensuring that my group-mates are always in their best mindset, to gently guiding a group in the right direction while ensuring that everyone has their own input recognized. My skills in mediation and communication are endlessly beneficial when performing as a part of a five-person team. I'm able to maintain the peace when stress is high (which it is constantly), and help my teammates to thoughtfully work through situations when they might not be in their right minds.
While at school, we'd always work, but often slack off when given the chance. When I'm practicing for the team, even though I'm playing a video game, slacking off isn't an option. I'm constantly under pressure to perform to my utmost, and failure is objectively viewed as a reason for me to be removed from the roster. Since success is mandatory, something that's "just fun" for lot's of other people has become "do or die" for me.
